The DURGA 5 does everything the DURGA 4 does, but with more core and body to the sound.   Since the DURGA Alto has become a true classic in the saxophone world, we didn’t want to change the base sound signature.   But we did want to update it with some of Theo’s new technology.

Yanagisawa silver-plated brass saxophone mouthpieces are designed and manufactured with the same uncompromising excellence that is the hallmark of the instruments themselves. They produce a true saxophone sound, enhanced with a brightness and edge that derives from the silver plating of beautifully machined solid brass stock.

The Standard Series are made out of high quality phenol resin (plastic) and feature a design based upon the top grade Custom series. They are extremely consistent in specifications and playing quality, and offer excellent value for their price.

The new Super Session mouthpiece has been specially designed for Jazz playing, though being also suitable for a more academic work. The outside shape makes it look a little different from the traditional Selmer (Paris) design; the inner conception of the chamber gives this new mouthpiece very attractive playing features required by modern players.
